GSO 459:1994 Scope

This Gulf standard is concerned with the general provisions that should be met in horizontal potable water tanks that fall under a static height with a value equivalent to the depth of the tank. These tanks are made from glass fibre reinforced polyester resins and are used for storing potable water. This standard specifies the tanks designs and their nominal and actual capacities that comply with the prevailing atmospheric conditions at G.C.C., and also covers tests and inspections. However, it does not cover the tanks mounted on various means of transport used as water carriers and others that are subject to dynamic factors. This standard does not include the underground water tanks, insulated tanks and pressure vessels and the tanks assembled from plates made from glass fibre reinforced polyester resins.
